So Kelley's birthday is May 8th... and we were at school. For her birthday, I mean- that wasn't a completely unrelated statement or anything. We like those, but that wasn't one. Anyhow, so Holly decides around June 3rd that maybe she should do something for Kelley's birthday instead of being stupid. Sooooooo... she and Carrie planned a party. A "surprise" party, no less... except that we kinda had it at Kelley's house... and we kinda asked Kelley's permission first... so perhaps a smidge of that element of surprise was lost in preparation. She did not, however, realize that we were throwing her a "surprise" "Luau"! It wasn't really a Luau- generally those are outside... yeah. It was an indoor luau, with a coke castle. Only us, right?

Here's Kelley, oh-so-surprised, and frantically trying to put together a scavenger hunt

Here's the fruit, preparing to be eating... it's chillin' in the ice box. Ha- get it? chillin'? Ice box? Dagnabit all... I mean, refrigerator.

More fruit. And yes, we DID need two pictures of the fruit. Do notice they were in different containers. Hmph.

Isn't it pretty? All the food!

Chateau Cola

Ha, ha... We're hilarious. Just ask Kelley's mom. Kitchen ISLAND...

Some netting, used to add atmosphere to Kelley's sadly non-luau-ish living room. And yeah, that's a banana. Isn't that where you keep yours?

Here's Phil the lobster, making his debut as an integral part of our luau scavenger hunt.

Here's Josh and Carrie- Josh is trying to keep Carrie from curling up into a ball like she has a tendency to do when she's afraid of having her soul stolen by a camera.

Here's Robert showing off his umbrella.
Rob and Josh were visiting from Oklahoma, so they just dropped by. That's fine, cuz we thought lots of people were coming and some of them decided not to come. Our poor turnout, I'm sure, was not at all relaed to the fact that we never really sent out invitations (on paper- we did, of course, send out plenty of telepathic invitations).

You can't so much see it, but Carrie's wearing a crown made of bananas and toothpick umbrellas. Yeaaaah!

The classic tree-shot.

Followed up by a classic shoe shot, though this particular shoe shot was severely lacking in... um... shoes...

Here's Joanne, after the scavenger hunt, playing with her party favors. Wooo!

Kelley and Elizabeth are probably discussing something important here- I dunno. I was too busy taking the picture.

Here's Cat! She's all summery!! This was just prior to the lei making fun that had us oh-so-very occupied for a good hour or two. We kinda took some leis apart and then put them back together again- it was really a lot of fun, though. I promise.

Here's Cat and Kelley!

Wow! Sarah got her hair cut really short. REALLY short. I used to be down to her elbows or so. Whoaaaa.

My personal favorite... Look! Kelley can put her foot behind her head!

Well, there you go...

Aloha, Page O' Coolness!
